The Sea Urchin Cactus is a spineless species, but to me, they are very brave. Instead of spines, Sea Urchin Cacti have woolly areoles that form at the tip of the ribs and are speckled with white scales. This specimen’s flower color is purple, but other varieties move right along the color spectrum, shifting between purple, red, orange and yellow.
